Deal Builder update: August 2025

Introducing the next iteration of retailing on Autotrader as we scale Deal Builder on our platform.

We recently shared our plans to scale Deal Builder in the second half of 2025 and continue to invest in the future of automotive retail. This included us making Deal Builder available to all retailers at no additional cost and the launch of Sales Hub for all retailers.

The journey so far

We launched Deal Builder back in 2022 and have continuously worked hard to scale the product and enable omni-channel retail for all of our retailers and tech partners. The Deals API was launched in 2023 with our first partners beginning integrations and we announced earlier in the year the transition from the Leads API to the Deals API in support of our continued efforts to create a seamless lead management experience. Going forward we will be continuing to scale Deal Builder and the Deals API as we make it available for more retailers.

Transitioning from Leads to Deals

We have already begun to transition all Partners from our Leads API to the Deals API. The Deals API enables improved functionality, creating a better experience for all Partners & Retailers and supports the scaling of Deal Builder alongside traditional enquiries.

As mentioned in our previous blog we will be retiring the Leads API in the coming months, and the Deals API will take over responsibility for exposing both marketplace enquiries and deals submitted via the new Deal Builder journey in a single service.

What do Tech Partners need to do?

We have laid out everything partners need to do to integrate the Deals API and maintain a like for like service. We have also highlighted the additional components partners can integrate to deliver a complete omnichannel retailing experience to retailers.
