Viewing different deal types in Sales hub
Any deals received will be visible in Sales hub and can be distinguished from other lead types by their thumbnail image and the component flags. You can also use the filters available within Sales hub to just filter on ‘deals’.
A deal can be made up of several different components, depending on the specific tasks completed by the customer during the deal-building process:
Part Exchange
Can be identified with a ‘Part exchange’ label in Sales Hub. Click into the deal to view full details of the part exchange vehicle, including options make adjustments after a discussion with the customer.
If a customer submits a car as a part exchange, a part ex guide price will be provided to the customer, which they may choose to include attach. Customers are informed that this price is not guaranteed and may change after the seller has inspected the vehicle.
For vans, part ex guide valuations are not currently provided as part of the Deal Builder journey. If a van is attached in part exchange, it will contain only the details of the vehicle with no valuation.
Finance
Can be identified with a ‘Finance’ label in Sales Hub. Click into the deal to view full details of the finance attached by the customer.
1. What is finance?
The finance options available to consumers depend on the specific finance set-up you have with Autotrader. With full lender integration, customers can obtain a quote or complete an application. Without this integration, only a finance estimate is available, which matches the calculations provided by your finance calculator on the product page.
For vans, there are currently no finance options available for businesses that are VAT registered. Consumers identifying as VAT business users will not receive finance information, though they may enter their finance preferences to assist with further discussions.
Delivery preferences
Can be identified with a ‘Delivery’ label in Sales Hub, followed by their preference of Click and collect or Home delivery (if enabled).
1. What are delivery preferences?
If you have home delivery preferences configured, consumers will be able to indicate if their preference is to collect the vehicle or have this delivered.
If you have not yet set up delivery preferences with Autotrader, you can configure them by going to the 'home services' page within your account area of Portal. Please note, if you don’t have any delivery options configured then this option won’t be shown to consumers.
Reservations
Can be identified with a ‘Reservation’ label in Sales Hub. If the money has been refunded to the consumer, this label will also identify that this has been refunded.
Customers can choose to reserve a vehicle with a fully refundable £99 payment. This £99 fee is always returned to the customer, so it will never be transferred to you, so make sure you don’t include the £99 value in your invoicing process.
The £99 is refunded if:
You cancel or complete the deal in Portal
The customer cancels through their Autotrader account, notifying you of the cancellation and removing the reservation flag
If a reservation is made, your advert will display a reservation flag until you or the consumer cancels the deal. If no reservation is placed, no flag appears, but you can mark it as reserved in Portal after speaking with the customer.
Please note, we ideally expect you to honour the reservation for at least 48 hours to allow you and the consumer to establish if a sale is likely to proceed.
